I saw a piece of work at an exhibition recently where someone had used oil and acrylic paint on the same piece of work. It wasn't something I'd seen before and it ignited curiosity in me as I'm excited about trying new things, especially when there is a risk involved. This painting has been executed using those two media together, plus oil pastel and graphite. I was interested in the difference in textures of the oil and acrylic as they didn't quite mix together on the surface of the board I used. It was an effect I liked: the oil paint was very tacky and the acrylic was very smooth.
